SUSSLE SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)

Criteria:
-Contribute content by topic to Sussle.
-Large variety of topics, for example:  fashion, Disney Princess, Oreo. Harry Potter, ice cream, Doctor Who, Spanish language, Innovation…and many other fun and current topics.
Award:  Up to $1,000; other lesser cash awards

AMERICAN FIRE SPRINKLER ESSAY (Seniors)

Criteria:
-Must be a U.S. citizen
-Applicants are put into a random drawing
Award:  $2,000 (10 nationally)

LIGHTS, CAMERA, SAVE! VIDEO CONTEST (Teens ages 13-18)
Deadline: December 1, 2016

Criteria:
-Create a video that shows the value of sound money management in a way that will appeal to other teens.
Award: $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000 (3 national awards) and video posted on YouTube as part of a national campaign.

VIOLET RICHARDSON SOROPTIMIST AWARD (Young Women, ages 14-17)

Criteria:
-This award recognizes young women between the ages of 14 and 17 who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts.
-These are merit awards and are NOT based on academic achievement.
-The Violet Richardson Award Program underscores Soroptimist’s commitment to volunteerism and to young women – the leaders of the future.
Award:  Varies, up to $2,500

ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)

Deadline:  November 30, 2016
Criteria:
U.S. Citizen
-Applications judged on Scholarship, Leadership, Financial need
-Applications must be submitted online
-Selection of winners begins at the local Lodge level and continues through district, state and national judging.
Award: National Awards are First Place–$50,000 (2), Second Place–$40,000 (2), Third Place–$30,000 (2), $20,000 (14), $4,000 (480);
Local Awards vary from $500-1,000.
*This application requires extra time and attention to detail, but is an excellent way to creat a scholarship portfolio that you can use for other scholarships as well.   

LYNN JENSEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)
Deadline:  December 2, 2016

Criteria:

-Seniors who plan tobecome a school counselor or public education teacher.
-Write an essay about a school counselor who has had a positive effect/influence on you and your school success.
-Submit transcript, ACT or SAT scores and two letters of recommendation.
Award:  $500

BURGER KING SCHOLARS PROGRAM (Seniors)

Criteria:

  • Have a strong academic record with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5,
  • Be passionate about serving the community, and
  • Be a high school senior, BURGER KING® employee, spouse/domestic partner or child of an employee.

Award: $1,500

AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Deadline:  December 15, 2016, 11:59 (CST), but apply soon because they will only accept the first 10,000 applications!
Criteria:
-ambition and drive
-determination to set and reach goals
-respect for self, family, and community
-ability to succeed in college
Award:  $10,000 – $25,000 (winner in each state)

NFIB YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AWARD PROGRAM (Seniors)
Deadline:  December 18, 2016

Criteria:
-Graduating high school senior who owns and operates his/her own small business.
-Must enter your freshman year at an accredited two- or four-year university, college or vocational/technical institute during the Fall 2017.
-The selection committee will consider the applicants’ academic records, extracurricular activities, leadership, and character.
-Evidence of entrepreneurial spirit and initiative will be heavily weighted.
Award:  $1,000 – $15,000 (105 awards)

REGENTS’ SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)

Deadline:  Dec. 9, 2016 (Priority Deadline), February 1, 2017 (Regular Deadline)
Criteria for Base Award:
-Complete the Utah Scholars Core Course of Study during grades 9-12.*
-Have a cumulative 3.0 high school GPA.
-Have at least one reported ACT test score (SAT is not accepted).
-Have no grade on official transcript lower than a “C” in core courses.
-Be a U.S. citizen, or a noncitizen eligible for federal student aid.
-No criminal record.
-Enroll full-time (12 or more college credit hours) at an eligible Utah institution of higher education during Fall semester immediately following high school graduation.
Criteria for Exemplary Academic Achievement Award:
-Must meet the Base Award requirements.
-Have a cumulative 3.5 GPA
-Have no grade on official transcript lower than a “B” in core courses.
-Have an ACT score of 26.
*Core Courses:
-4 credits of English
-4 progressive credits of mathematics
-3.5 credits of Social Science
-3 credits of lab-based Sceince course, specifically one each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics
-2 progressive credits of same World or Classical Language, other than English, during grades 9-12
Award: Base Award–$1,000 one-time payment
Exemplary Academic Achievement Award–$1,250 per semester (amount based on decisions made in the Utah State Legislative Session)

ODENZA MARKETING GROUP VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIP (16-22 on Dec. 30, 2013)

Criteria:
-GPA of 2.5 or higher in his/her last academic year.
-Must have contributed at least 50 hours of volunteer (non-paid) service within his/her community over the last 12 months.  Please ensure that you have completed this amount of hours and that a person within the organization(s) is willing to confirm that you have volunteered this amount of time.
Award:  $500 (1 award)

USU EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)

Deadline:  November 4, 2016, in order to secure an interview at Diversity Day!; optional deadline of January 10, 2016
Criteria:
-Multicultural and First Generation students.
-Minimum 3.0 GPA
-Minimum 21 ACT or 980 SAT
-Demonstrate financial need.
-Applicants agree to us the scholarship in consecutive semesters, unless a deferment or leave of absence is requested (military service, medical considerations, or church service)
-Personal essay must accompany the application (1-2 pages, double-spaced)
-Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status
Award:  Range from $500 to full tuition

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes

Deadline: December 16, 2016

Criteria:
-High school senior entering a four-year, accredited US college or university in the Fall of 2017
-Must participate on a high school sports team or be involved in after-school sports (intramurals)
-Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (9th-12th grade)
-U.S. Citizen or legal resident
