Utah Scholars is a recognition program that honors students that have earned a 3.0 and worked hard through their high school career.  Seniors must apply by February 1st in order to qualify.  This is not a scholarship, rather it is an opportunity for seniors to earn a medallion to wear at graduation.

Here is the checklist and the link to apply:

Utah Scholars Checklist

In order to qualify you must apply and then complete at least 200 points from the checklist.  This list shows what is required and if you have not checked off any of the activities from the other grades, doing the 12th grade requirements along with the required ones will get you enough points. You can still use the points from the other grades as well even if you are just now completing them.

This recognition is not hard to achieve! Any student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher should absolutely apply.

What is Utah Scholars?

Utah Scholars takes a holistic approach to college readiness. The program is intended to motivate you and students like you to complete specific college readiness tasks in grades 8-12 to help prepare you for college.

You receive additional points by doing things like following us on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, taking AP/IB or Concurrent Enrollment classes, visiting a college campus, and learning about paying for college options.

Summer Texting Program for Seniors

Utah Scholars is embarking on a summer texting program to help students finish all the steps to college enrollment on time and with support. We know that many students need some guidance during the summer so we’ve teamed up with the National College Access Network to text students messages about financial aid, registering for classes, orientation, and other important tasks that need to be completed before they can enroll in college.

We’re specifically trying to reach the students who have been accepted to college but may not go because they find these steps difficult or overwhelming. We’re trying to reduce “summer melt,” the phenomenon of students who are accepted but never enroll anywhere. This would be especially appropriate for students who will be the first in their families to go to college or anyone who might benefit from some extra support.

Please help us enroll students in our free texting program by sharing this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/utahscholarsseniors

This program is free (standard text rates apply) and is open to ANY Utah Scholars senior going to ANY school.
