Here are two new scholarships to consider.

Drive Smart, No Distractions, No Excuses, Teen Digital Short Contest (student age 13-18)
Deadline: December 18, 2017
-U.S. citizen or legal resident
-Student age 13-18
The entry must be a digital short that is at least 15 seconds but no longer than 60 seconds in length.  The video must try to convince teens about the dangers of distracted driving and the importance of not texting and driving.
Award: up to $10,000

Alpine Recovery Lodge Bi-Annual Scholarship Essay Contest (seniors)
July 1, 2017
-High school seniors
-Resident of Utah

FAFSA Scholarship


Did you file a FAFSA? You are eligible to apply for the FAFSA scholarship. Head over to and click on the white square that says “submit my scholarship application”. There are two different scholarships. One is if you attended a FAFSA Completion Night and the other is if you did the FAFSA on your own, but both require that you have completed and submitted your FAFSA for the 2017-2018 school year.

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship

Deadline: March 30, 2017

Award Value: $500

To be considered for the Odenza Marketing Scholarship you must

  • Be between the ages of 16 and 25 on the day of the deadline.
  • Submit answers to the essay questions, which can be found on the application page, prior to the deadline.
  • Have at least one full year of post secondary studies remaining at the time of the award. (Current high school students are also eligible.)
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Be a citizen of the the United States or Canada.

The scholarship winner will be announced roughly six weeks after the deadline and will be posted on the website immediately after. All applications must be received by 11:59 pm EST on the day of the deadline. Not late applications will be reviewed.

Student Insight’s 2017 Student-View Scholarship Program

Deadline: April 22, 2017

The 2017 student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. The program includes one $4,000 scholarship, two $1,000 scholarships, and ten $500 scholarships. It’s quick and easy to apply. There is no minimum SAT/ACT score or minimum GPA. No essay is required. No lengthy application forms and no application fees.

Simply log on to and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. Winners will be announced in May of 2017.

Upcoming Deadlines!

Here are some upcoming deadlines to be watching for!

February ACT: Registration is due this Friday, January 13th. Cost is $42.50. There will not be a test offered here at THS. Students wishing to take this test will need to select another testing location.

Regents’ Scholarship: The final deadline for Regents’ Scholarship is February 1st. The application and all additional materials must be in by this date. If you think you might qualify for Regents’ please see Miss Black in the counseling office.

College/Scholarship Applications: Final deadlines for college/scholarship applications are fast approaching. WSU priority scholarship deadline is TODAY, JAN. 9TH! USU is tomorrow, JAN. 10th!  BYU and UVU are due February 1st. The following are due March 1st: DSU, LDSBC, SLCC, Snow, SUU, and USU-Eastern. Get those applications in as soon as possible!
