T.H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan Program

I just received the application for the 2017-2018 T.H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan Program. This is a program that if you wish to pursue an education major might be a good one to apply for. The incentive loan program will cover tuition and fees (for public schools) or $995 a semester (for private schools) for up to 8 semesters, if you are selected.

You can find the application here or come get a copy from Miss Black in the counseling office.

If you have any questions you can contact the Board of Regents at 801-321-7200 or see Miss Black in the counseling office.

FAFSA February

FAFSA February posterWelcome to FAFSA February! FAFSA refers to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  Students need to fill out a FAFSA application in order to determine if they are eligible for money from the federal government that will help them pay for their college education.  FAFSA money comes in the form of Pell Grants, student loans, and work study programs.  Your can learn more about FAFSA, here.

This month is the time to complete your FAFSA so you can receive information on college money ASAP.  There are several available workshops this month (see above) to help you complete your FAFSA, so make sure you attend at least one.  You will receive the best help at FAFSA Night at the CLC on Tuesday, Feb. 18th from 5-8 p.m.  The state experts from UHEAA will be there that night to answer any questions you might have.  I am a newbie, but will be available to help you during every CIS class in February, as well as Wednesday, Feb. 19th from 4-7 in Room #233.  Last year there were many students who were eligible for Pell Grants (free government money) that never completed their FAFSA application.  Don’t miss out on these funds.  Grants are one of the very best ways to pay for college!
