National Merit Scholarship and PSAT

Juniors, there is an opportunity for you to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the PSAT this fall.

The 2017 test is the qualifying test for entry into the National Merit Scholarship Program. To enter the 2019 program, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled as a high school student (traditional or homeschooled), progressing normally towards graduation or completion of high school by 2019, and planning to accept admission to college no later than 2019.
  • Be a citizen of the United States; or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident
  • Take the 2017 PSAT in the third year of your high school program (11th grade)

There is a PSAT test being given on October 11th in the Tooele High School library at 8:00 a.m.  The cost to sign up is $17.00 and there are only 25 slots, so sign up now!

This program will award students with 8700 awards that total 42 million dollars.
