The NSDAR is dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children.  They award many scholarships to students who are pursuing degrees in Nursing, History, Law, and Education.  Scholarships are judged and awarded without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin or disability

The application is the same for each scholarship, but must be mailed separately to the correct address for the scholarship for which you are applying.  Fill out the application and financial need info online at this link:

Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship – based on academic merit with an initial minimum GPA of 4.0.  This scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive years and is conditional upon maintaining a GPA of 3.25.

  • Award amount:  $5,000

Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship – Awarded to three students who are in financial need and are accepted and enrolled into an accredited school of nursing.

  • Award amount:  $2,000
  • Deadline:  February 10

Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship – Awarded to two students who are in financial need and have been accepted or are attending an accredited school of occupational therapy (including art, music, or physical therapy).

  • Award amount:  $2,000
  • Deadline:  February 10

Dr. Aura-Lee A. and James Hobbs Pittenger American History Scholarship – Awarded to a student who is pursuing a degree in American History and American Government.  Can be renewable up to four years.

  • Award amount:  $2,000
  • Deadline:  February 10

The Lucinda Beneventi Findley History Scholarship – Awarded to two high school seniors that have demonstrated advance interest in history and are planning to major in or pursue the study of history in a full time accredited college or university in the United States.

  • Must have GPA of 3.25
  • Award Amount:  $2,000
  • Deadline:  February 10
