Utah Boy’s State

Boys-State (1)Attention Junior Boys!!!

Utah boys State is scheduled for June 9th through June 13th at Weber State University in Ogden.  If you are interested in Government, Civic Service, Political Science or how our system of government works, consider this excellent opportunity.  Attendance at  Boys’ State also looks great on scholarship applications and job resumes.  At Boys’ State, you will learn the functions of government and our judicial system through and with actual sitting civic leaders.  Students may also participate in music, sports and seminars with elected and appointed public officials from city, county, state and federal levels of government.  Attendees will also elect two Student Senators to represent Utah at the Boys Nation seminar in Washington D.C., as well as a Governor/Lt. Governor team.

Not only does Boys’ State increase your potential for future scholarships, you can actually receive a scholarship to Weber State University while you are at Boys’ State. Last year, the Samsung American Legion scholarship was awarded to 191 students for a total of $986,000!

The cost to attend Boys’ State is $450.00 which includes 3 semester hours of 2920 Political Sciences College Credit, which are transferable to any other state funded university. Last year, we were able to receive funding to help with tuition, so if you would like to attend, but money is a factor, don’t let that keep you from applying!  See Mrs. Cartwright if you have any questions about funding.
