Field trip to SLCC on Monday February 26th.  Permission slips are due by Friday February 23rd. If SLCC is on your radar, please come with us.  We will be visiting the Redwood Rd. campus and the South City campus. If you need a permission slip, please see Mrs. Dangerfield.

Life’s Worth Living Foundation Scholarship

A scholarship is available to a Tooele County School District student that has experienced the loss of a parent or sibling to suicide.  The scholarship is for $1,000 dollars and the application is due by April 20, 2018.

Come Visit SLCC with Tooele High!

We will be taking a field trip to SLCC on February 26th.  I have 15 spots available for students that would like to come.  We will be visiting the Redwood Rd. Campus first and then travel to the South City Campus.  We will be touring the Science and Industry building, the Business Center, the T.V. production program and the radio program.

If you are interested in going to visit SLCC, please come see Mrs. Dangerfield for a permission slip.  We will be leaving from Tooele High at 7:45 a.m.

Young Humanitarian Utah Scholarship

The Youthlinc Utah Young Humanitarian Award celebrates outstanding humanitarian service among youth, sponsored by the George S. & Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation. Youthlinc has organized this annual statewide search since 2005. Must be a junior or senior in high school.

Girls and Boys State for Juniors

What is Girls State?

The American Legion Auxiliary holds Girls State at Weber State in the summer for junior girls interested in increasing their knowledge on civic leadership and public service. This is an opportunity for girls to learn more about the inner workings of our government at the city, county, state, and national levels.  You will “create and run” a state of your own.  You will also gain a deeper understanding of our nation, our flag, and those men and women who have served this great country, past and present.

Girls State is held from June 4-9, 2018.  The cost is $400 dollars which includes room, meals, supplies and 3 hours of POLS 2920 university credit.

330 girls from across the state will be selected to attend.  If you are interested in applying and interviewing please see Mrs. Dangerfield for more information. Your application is due into Mrs. Dangerfield by February 20th.

 What is Boys State?

The American Legion Boys State Program is held at Weber State from June 11-15, 2018.  This event gives boys the opportunity to see how government is run, draft and debate legislation, launch campaigns and run for office. Boys will also get 3 hours of POLS 2920 university credit. The cost to attend is $375 dollar. Boys must register before they can apply by logging onto: www.weber.edu/utahboysstate 

Your registration and $375 dollars must be submitted to the American Legion no later than May 1, 2018.
