Local Scholarships-Last Round

Seniors! These are the last of the local scholarships. Please make sure you have your completed application in to the counseling office by the end of the school day on the respective due dates.

Due April 20th:

2017 Barrick Mercur Application – TCSD Senior who may not have received significant scholarships from other sources

AL England Business 2017– Seniors with an interest in studying business

Due April 21st:

Skilled Trades and STEM scholarship – Detroit Diesel – Seniors with an interest in skilled trades or STEM careers

Arthur W Brothers Communications Technology Scholarship 2017 – Seniors with an interest in communications and/or technology

Due April 24th:

THS Alumni Scholarship 2017 – Senior at Tooele High School who may not have received significant scholarships from other sources

Betsy Ila Bowen Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship 2017 – Senior girls at THS

Tooele County Dairy Princess 2017

The Tooele County Dairy Princess Ambassador Scholarship competition is set for Thursday May 18th  2017.  Contestants must be at least a Junior now and no older than 23.  A 3.0 GPA is required.  One Princess/Ambassador will be awarded  $1,000 and two co-attendants  $500 scholarships.   Selection is based on personal interview, dairy knowledge and a presentation.

The royalty will travel throughout Tooele County promoting dairy products and leading a healthy lifestyle.   They will also be involved in many different types of community events.

The Princess /Ambassador will represent Tooele County and compete in state  competition in January 2018.

FAFSA Scholarship

DUE TONIGHT AT 11:59PM!!!

Did you file a FAFSA? You are eligible to apply for the FAFSA scholarship. Head over to https://www.facebook.com/StepUpUtah/app/190322544333196/ and click on the white square that says “submit my scholarship application”. There are two different scholarships. One is if you attended a FAFSA Completion Night and the other is if you did the FAFSA on your own, but both require that you have completed and submitted your FAFSA for the 2017-2018 school year.

SLCC Wastach Field Study

Incoming college freshman can complete 3 general education courses through the Wasatch Field Study this summer.  The students will be able to complete English 1010, their Physical Science General Education Credit (Geology 1010) and their Life Science General Education Credit (Environmental Science)  This cohort will run from June 12th-August 6th. Life’s Worth Living Foundation “Walk-a-thon”

LWLF walk

Life’s Worth Living Foundation is holding their first annual “Walk-a-thon” on the track here at THS. The event will begin with registration/check in at 7 A.M. and the walk will begin at 8 A.M. and go until around 11 A.M.

  • Event is Saturday April 22, 2017 at Tooele High School Track
  • Registration and/or confirmation of pre-registrations begins at 7am
  • Walking begins at 8am
  • Walk is 10 miles or 40 laps (or whatever you can accomplish up to that)
  • Please fill out the registration form for each person walking in the event
  • Obtaining pledges is what makes the Walk-a-thon matter
  • Each walker who obtains $100 in pledges will receive a T-shirt
  • Awards will be given for the most money raised, most social media shares

Arthur W. Brothers Communication/Technology Scholarship

Deadline: April 21, 2017

This communications/technology scholarship is being awarded to senior students graduating from THS, SHS or GHS at the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Intended for students with an interest in pursuing a career in communications and/or technology. The scholarship will be in the amount of $500 and must be used by the award winning student to attend an ATC, community college, or university of their choice.

Criteria:

  • transcript
  • demonstrated interest in communications and/or technology as shown by classes taken
